But of course, I can’t end this post without mentioning my favorite person in the world (no sarcasm here).
Saturday Boss never hid the fact that he would like it better if I stayed in UST. If he had his way, I’d be taking a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication there right now. But contrary to what most people would like to think of me, I have a mind of my own. And when it comes to my pursuit of happiness I’ve never taken other people into consideration—not my parents, not my friends, not even him (besides if they really want what’s best for me, they’d trust me. Everything else would fall into places).
It had been my habit to give him a summary of what happened in my class. One time when I forgot to do that, he teased me that I was late again for work, which brought on more conversations on teachers and education.
In more ways than one, he encouraged me. He found a way for me to make copies of books in our library if I need it (he asked one secretary, who asked the librarian if it was possible… they made special arrangements for me, hehe). Every time I felt overwhelmed, he would make it sound like it’s just a walk in the park and that I could do it. And most of all, he made me laugh. Somehow, he could turn a catastrophe to a comic adventure.
