I watched this movie with some of my officemates. We almost missed it because our section finished late, but good thing the LFS in Greenbelt is at 12 pm. So, garbed in our working clothes, we ploughed through the Saturday party-goers of Makati.

We were laughing so hard at ReneeZellweger's antics. While we all drooled over Ewan McGregor's chest. God, i want to take that man to bed someday.

Besides being light, I appreciated the texture and color of the movie. Reminds you of the technicolor quality of the sixties, which consequently, is the setting of the story. Even the camera movements and shots kinda reminds you of that wonderful era (split screens and montage effects).

The costume, ay naku! Kaloka! Makes you want to go back in time so you can shop for those simple dresses that accentuate women's curves without exposing too much flesh. Of course, the look would not be complete without that deliberate fly away hairstyle.

It's got no sex, only innuendos. Major role reversals. And the amount of chocolates that women ate at that movie is enough to make you wonder how the characters even managed to stay fit after a period of a few weeks.

Its got a good start, but ended a little lame and mushy. Maybe they could do without that prolonged speech by Renee near the end.

The moviemakers also made use of Ewan and Renee's background in the musical film as they made the two perform a song and dance number at the end...

But I think I got my money's worth for this movie... I give it two thumbs up.

"Ganyan talaga, masipag talaga sa simula, pero magsasawa ka rin diyan." This is what one of my aunt said to me after I told her the amount of time I spend in the office. I'd love to prove her wrong. But I think, two weeks in the job is not sufficient to prove anything.

So, I guess she'll have to wait for two or three more years to see me still working in the same company on the same sched.

She gave some pretty neat advice about my future plans to study again. She's all for civil law, but she also wanted me to consider other options like taking a masteral degree abroad. Her daughter, my cousin, is somewhere in London finishing her masters in Business Admin (she makes me so proud).

Can't say I'm not tempted. She told me that hopefully, two or three years will be enough for me to accumulate enough money to support myself in a year. If all else fails, I could borrow money from my parents.

Tempted. Soo, tempted. Let's wait and see. I'll finish my required two-year work experience, and then let's see.

See if my mom would allow me to leave her side. I'm not the only one who don't get enough sleep in our house lately. It seems she can't sleep properly until I arrive safely at our doorstep. What more pa kaya if I leave the country, that would kill her.

Pero two years pa naman. I hope my tatay would retire and stay with her, only then will I have bigger chances to get out of here.

Crossing my fingers. Praying so hard.
