Last Wednesday when almost all of my classmates, including me, were cramming for our PR presentation, my telephone rang.
Note: Lady of the Phone will henceforth be known as LOP
LOP: Hello, may I speak to (my name)? Me: Yes, speaking? LOP: We are processing your resume, you applied for our company. I’m Jane from (name of the company). Are you still interested in the position? Me: Ye…eesss… LOP: Are you busy? Can we have a phone interview? Me: You mean right now? Sure. LOP: So what do you know about our company and the position your applying? Me: What company is this again? And what position am I applying for again? LOP: Blurp, blurp, blurp (answers but I couldn’t understand)
Me: Aaah… LOP: Which do you prefer, inbound or outbound? Me: I’m sorry, the signal’s bad. Call again tomorrow.
Later found out that it’s a telemarketing company. Her name is not Jane, it’s Jing. She asked me what’s the greatest achievement in my life besides graduating this March (I promptly answered surviving thesis, my friend said thesis and graduation are the same). She asked me why I chose my course and where do I see myself five years from now (Definitely, not in her company).

At this rate, I’ll be lucky to find a job in 2004.
