Why I love UAAP?

Because I’m excused for being too loud. I can curse La Salle, Ateneo, UP, and other universities without being labeled as ‘bastos’ or ‘walang modo’. I can call them ’bobo’ on the merits na hindi mashoot ng player nila ang bola.

I remember one particular La Salle-UST championship. One La Sallian had a placard “tuition fee ninyo, baon lang namin”. Personally, I was hurt. I was a high school student then. In fairness, mabenta ang Varsi nun. I’ll take my red pen out.

I love UAAP cause it makes me feel like I’m really in UST, and part of the Thomasian community [Kahit nung Edsa dos Thomasian rallyists were screaming “Go USTE!”]. I guess I was brainwashed into that thinking. Hello! Grade four pa lang ako may UST Tiger t-shirt na ako (part of the elite ka kasi pag meron ka nun eh). That was the year when Aric del Rosario became the coach and changed the name of the Goldies to Tigers. Kaya the dancers don’t have to wear some silly costume to kiss the ass of the sponsors to win the competition. It was pure talent.

**********

My favorite year was when Salinggawi high kicked the ass of other competitors because they introduced the four-man pyramid.

It was also, I think, the year when they staged a skit during the halftime—a tiger mauling a begging green archer.

***********

I love the energy in UAAP. I love UAAP. Because I can cheer.

Of course, I was also one of those people who begged my fellow Thomasians to pay attention to other sports. Like swimming.

Kasi grandslam sila eh.

I was harassed by pam today. So what’s new? I had my vengeance. She took her skirt off when she thought no one was looking. Haha… buti nga, her boxers were exposed to the general public. She forgot that one window was broken so anyone across our building could see her yellow shorts. Isa pa, our door was partly done in glass, so all that a passer-by should do is turn his head, and voila, he would see the respectable writer without her skirt.

I lied across the grassfield of UST for nothing. Grabe, we were doing our assignment for our Photojourn and the cam was doing fine. Until we had to do the “hear no evil” project. Ngek, the shutter speed control suddenly gained a mind of its own and it wouldn’t budge. No matter how we try to push, pull, or attack it.

Sayang talaga. Maybe it wants to hear the evil.

Good thing was, I used my waterworks to my mom and she suggested that we buy a new one na lang. Hoorah!

************

Promise, I won’t drop it like my Olympus. I’ll use the strap.

************

We bought the cheapest Nikon. The FM 10. It was between that and Cocina. Call me brand conscious, but why would I want to buy a cam with the kitchen as a brand?

************

I just realized that I treat sanshayn the way I treat my baby cousin, Dondon.
