I will never take a single grain of rice for granted again.
My parents, or at very least, my relatives, always reminded me of the toil farmers do before a plateful of rice is served on the table.
But what they haven’t told me was them post harvest toil. I never knew that grains had to reach the perfect moisture content before they become edible. Or that there are grain color pickers where a single off –color grain will be forcibly separated from the rest.

The whole time I was in Nueva, this thought was always on my mind:
“I hope my face is still somewhere beneath this inch-thick dust”

In our quest to find the elusive Cassava Cheese for our pasalubong, we got lost. We spent at least an hour in Cabanatuan City riding a trike bike on a rough road. The sad thing was, we haven’t found a single Cassava Cheese in the city.

Pinoy hospitality still exists on those parts of Luzon. We had to stay with Nat’s family for two days. This side of family that he hasn’t seen for the last TEN YEARS!

They had the cutest baby boy I had ever seen, next to Dondon, of course.

I’m glad Nat agreed with me on my review of Julia Roberts’ last movie, Full-Frontal. We both agreed that it sucked, that it was a waste of money, and that undoubtedly, without contest, the worst movie of the year. We agreed that it was a waste of talents of Roberts, David Duchovny, Bradd Pitt, and the others.
Full Frontal is like the movie that would never end. For two hours, I suffered sitting in front of the big screen, waiting for something to actually happen. It never did.

This is the first book, since
Confessions of a Shopaholic, that I simply refused to put down.
The first book, after
Scarlet Pimpernel, that actually satisfied me.
The first book, since
Are you Experienced?, that made me laugh so hard.
